• 2026 CACHE Call for Workshop Proposals -We invite proposals for a topical in-person or hybrid workshop to be held during the 2026–27 academic year, with $15,000 in funding available for one workshop. Proposals should align with CACHE’s aging-health-environment mission, have a data and/or methodological focus, and include opportunities for early-career researchers. Deadline: October 19, 2026.

• 2026 CACHE Call for Seed Grant Proposals – We are pleased to announce seed funding for projects integrating social and environmental data to examine the intersections of aging, health & environment. We envision 2-3 awards of $25,000. Applications due October 30, 2026.

• Health & Retirement Study – The HRS investigators welcome suggestions for experimental modules from the research community for the 2028 wave of HRS.
  • Interested in working with a group to propose a NEW experimental module for the 2028 Health and Retirement Study (HRS)? One idea is that, while HRS now incorporates measures of environmental exposure, expanding the data to include lifetime exposures (and adaptative capacity) could greatly expand research opportunities to shed light on broader life course research. CACHE will organize and host meetings of scholars interested on collaborating on this. More info here.

• Postdoctoral Associate at Cornell University, Department of Public and Ecosystem Health – Interested in the epidemiology of heat, wildfire smoke, cold, and other environmental hazards? Application deadline: October 15, 2026.

• Research Career Enrichment Program – The Michigan Center for Contextual Factors in Alzheimer’s Disease (MCCFAD), an NIA-funded Alzheimer’s Disease-related Resource Center for Minority Aging Research, invites applications for investigator-initiated research projects examining contextual factors in Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias. Three projects will receive up to $30,000 for one year, beginning July 1, 2027. Applications are due January 20, 2027.

• Call for Papers for the Special Collection “Measuring Population Health in the Era of Climate Change” in Population Health Metrics – The collection focuses on how climate change is reshaping population health and on methodological and empirical advances to measure these impacts. This collection welcomes original research articles, methodological contributions, interdisciplinary studies, comparative analyses, and systematic reviews that align with the scope of Population Health Metrics. Submissions due February 26, 2027.

• NIH Highlighted Topic: Health and Extreme Weather – Advancing Critical Research to Address the Direct and Indirect Health Impacts of Weather-Related Natural Disasters and Emerging Weather-Related Harms. Consider NIH’s centralized list of highlighted topics for your next investigator-initiated grant application. Each topic represents a selected research priority area within one or more NIH Institutes, Centers, or Offices (ICOs) that may or may not have dedicated funding.
