  • 2026 CACHE Call for Seed Grant Proposals – We are pleased to announce seed funding for projects integrating social and environmental data to examine the intersections of aging, health & environent. We envision 2-3 awards of $25,000. Applications due October 30, 2026.

  • CAFE Workshop: Informing Heat Solutions – Seeking lightning talk applications! Does your work help identify who and where are most at risk from extreme heat? Apply for a lightning talk here.

  • The 2026 CAFE Health and Extreme Weather Actionable Solutions Grants Program is offering grants of up to $20,000 to support innovative, solutions-oriented projects addressing health and extreme weather challenges. The program encourages interdisciplinary collaborations, stakeholder engagement, and applications from Early Stage Investigators at U.S. academic institutions. Applications due September 15, 2026.

  • Call for Lightning Talks: Extreme Weather Half Day: Informing Heat Solutions – Share your work at the upcoming Extreme Weather Half Day: Informing Heat Solutions on September 24 (12:00–4:00 p.m.). Students, researchers, practitioners, policymakers, and community members are invited to submit lightning talks highlighting research or practice that advances heat solutions, implementation, or identifies populations and places most at risk from extreme heat. 

  • POPCLIMA: Call for Abstracts – Researchers are invited to submit abstracts to the POPCLIMA conference, which brings together scholars examining the intersections of population dynamics, climate change, health, migration, mortality, and adaptation. This is an excellent opportunity to share new research, connect with an international interdisciplinary community, and contribute to discussions on the demographic dimensions of environmental change. Submissions due September 20, 2026. 

  • Call for Papers for the Special Collection “Measuring Population Health in the Era of Climate Change” in Population Health Metrics – The collection focuses on how climate change is reshaping population health and on methodological and empirical advances to measure these impacts. This collection welcomes original research articles, methodological contributions, interdisciplinary studies, comparative analyses, and systematic reviews that align with the scope of Population Health Metrics. Submissions due February 26, 2027.

    • NIH Highlighted Topic: Health and Extreme Weather – Advancing Critical Research to Address the Direct and Indirect Health Impacts of Weather-Related Natural Disasters and Emerging Weather-Related Harms. Consider NIH’s centralized list of highlighted topics for your next investigator-initiated grant application. Each topic represents a selected research priority area within one or more NIH Institutes, Centers, or Offices (ICOs) that may or may not have dedicated funding.
