Compound Exposures

This working group is for researchers interested in incorporating multiple, co-occurring environmental exposures—such as natural hazards, extreme weather, air pollution, and other related stressors—into their research on aging, health, and the environment. This working group is a collaborative space to discuss data sources, appropriate measures, data integration, best practices, and other research topics related to studying compound and cumulative exposures. The goal is to share knowledge and experience for approaching the technical, analytical, and conceptual hurdles researchers face when considering multiple, interacting environmental exposures in their work. Extreme Heat

This working group is for scholars who want to or already use measures of extremes heat in their research on aging/health/environment. This working group is a collaborative space to discuss data sources, appropriate measures, data integration, best practices, and other research practice topics. The goal is to share knowledge and experience to help other scholars in the field over the technical, analytical, and conceptual hurdles when considering heat exposure in their work. SHELDUS

Are you using SHELDUS? The Spatial Hazard Events & Losses Database for the US (SHELDUS) working group will be a collaborative space to discuss ongoing research, technical SHELDUS data topics, and best practices for currently using or interested in using SHELDUS data. Rural Aging, Health, Environment

Interested in joining a working group focused on rural issues at the intersection of aging, health, and the environment? The group will discuss ongoing research, gaps, new data, collaborative and funding possibilities and generally provide a supportive environment for those interested in rural spaces. Early Career Population & Environment

The Early Career Population and Environment Working Group is an informal working group for graduate students and post docs interested in environmental demography research. The group consists of a variety of sessions including informal research presentations, professional development sessions, networking events, and group discussions. Meetings occur every other Monday from 11-12pm CST. Please fill out the google form to join the listserv.
