2026 Call for Workshop Proposals 

Deadline: October 19, 2026 

The Center on Aging, Health, & Environment (CACHE) invites applications for funding for a topical in-person or hybrid workshop to be held during the academic year 2026-2027. We expect to support one workshop at $15,000. We encourage affiliates to seek matching or additional external funds if more support is needed. 

CACHE-supported workshops must: 

  • Align with the Center’s overall aim (see details here) which is to facilitate research on aging-health-environment topics.  All three dimensions must be considered in workshop content, and the workshop should aim to include experts from these three pillars. 
  • Have a data and/or methodological focus. CACHE aims to break down the barriers in aging-health-environment research, such as the challenges in integrating social-environmental data, for example. While workshops may propose a focus on an underused dataset, attention must also be given to relevant social or environmental data that can be integrated with the existing data.

  • CACHE workshops must include some early-career researchers (doctoral students, post-docs, assistant professors), and the workshop should be a networking opportunity for them. 
  • Workshops are expected to produce sharable content (slide decks, papers, videos) that can be disseminated on the CACHE Website.  

Workshop funds can support: 

  • Participant and speaker travel expenses, including lodging 
  • Facility and equipment rental 
  • Graduate student salary for workshop planning and support activities  

Workshop funds cannot support: 

  • Faculty salary 
  • Group meals 

Proposal (no more than two single-spaced pages) to include: 

  • Workshop title 
  • Workshop goal 
  • Significance and potential impact to the state-of-knowledge 
  • Alignment with CACHE goals 
  • Possible key participants and how participants will be selected or invited to participate 
  • Workshop format 
  • Budget (1-page, additional)  
  • If matching funds are to be sought to support the workshop, a description of that request or source of funding and how it will impact planning (1-page additional).
